Start Your Professional Development at Unum
A three-to-four year rotational leadership program designed to give participants experience in a wide variety of job roles. Each experience is unique, allowing the flexibility to pursue individual interests, develop strengths, and prepare for a successful leadership career.

What to Expect: Application and Interview Process

Submit your application
Once you apply, our Talent Acquisition team will review your application. During our review, we'll look for applicants to demonstrate a personal commitment to leadership opportunities on their resumes.
- Leadership can show up in different ways – whether it be on campus activities, involvement with fraternities or student clubs, community efforts, or volunteer activities to name a few. Describe how you get involved and make a difference.
Participate in a video interview
Selected candidates will be sent a link to complete a video interview. A member of our Talent Acquisition team will contact you to review the program in greater depth and answer any questions you may have.
Complete a manager interview
This 30–45-minute interview with our HR Program Manager and Professional Development Program Associate will consist of behavioral style questions, with a strong emphasis on leadership competencies.
Participate in assessment day
During this final stage of the interview process, you will have the opportunity to meet with several of our senior leaders and program associates who are deeply invested in the program. On Assessment Day, you will be scheduled for (3) 40-minute interviews including a final interview, presentation, and case study. You will also be asked to complete a 45-minute leadership assessment and to submit a brief biography in advance of Assessment Day.
Opportunity to receive an offer
After Assessment Day, you will hear from our Talent Acquisition team regarding the outcome of the interview process.
Timeline
- Once you submit your application, it usually takes 2-3 weeks to move through the interview process.
- Assessment Days are scheduled for the third Thursday each month.
